Welcome to the 4th Middle East Best of CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. This is the 4th year we are doing the highlights of this symposium covering information on experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis and therapy of breast cancer and pre-malignant breast disease, as well as new findings from clinical trials. The first three highlights commenced as follows:
- January 17 – 28, 2009 – Four Seasons Hotel – Riyadh, KSA
- January 16 – 17, 2008 – National Guard Officers Club – Riyadh, KSA
- January 24 – 25, 2007 – Four Seasons Hotel – Riyadh KSA
Over the last three years, we succeeded in making this meeting an annual event aiming to present the highlights of the meeting to those who cannot attend in San Antonio, USA. With the success of our previous meetings, we have accomplished collaborating with the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) at UT Health Science Center San Antonio and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Furthermore, we included presentation of abstracts from the Middle East to address the need of having rigorous research activities in the region.
This meeting aims to be an important vehicle of dialogue among oncologists in the region and the exchange and sharing of ideas will strengthen our common objectives and aims. Over the years, our attendees have increased being represented by almost all countries in the region. As of last year, our number has expanded including countries that were never part of the previous meetings.
